What is Extra Virgin Olive Oil?

The extra-virgin olive oil is the only vegetable oil obtained by pressure alone, without manipulation or chemical additives, unlike seed oils (soybean, peanut, sunflower, etc..).

Contains vitamins E, A, K, D, which have antioxidant properties and protective effect on body cells. Has an acidity level of less than 0,8% (0,8 gram per 100 grams).

Unlike other edible oils also the extra-virgin olive oil is mainly composed of monounsaturated fatty acids, with the presence in the right amount of linoleic fatty acid, polyphenols, vitamin E and beta carotene. The presence of these elements makes the antioxidant olive particularly important for our health.

It 'been scientifically proven that its constant use favors a lower "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and a simultaneous increase of the "good" cholesterol (HDL), which helps to prevent cardiovascular diseases and arteriosclerosis.
